Our COVID-19 Response
Here’s how we are keeping our customers and staff safe
We are open!
We are very happy to have our gates open to the public again but we have implemented a lot of changes to keep the garden centre safe for our staff and customers.
We have new opening hours to allow our staff time to prepare the site each morning. Please do not arrive before we open.
Monday – Saturday: 9:00 – 17:30
Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00
Please take note of the guidelines below which allow us to open safely. We appreciate your patience at this time as we adapt to new ways of working.
You might need to queue
We are restricting numbers of people in the garden centre and the greenhouse area. We have completed a thorough risk assessment which lets us know us how many people to allow in. There may be queues at peak times.
Keeping things clean
We are sterilising our trollies after each customer has used them. We are also offering all of our customers gloves and hand gel. When you have finished with your trolley please leave it by your car so we can collect it for cleaning.
Please observe the 2m rule when speaking to staff and with other customers when walking around the garden centre. We have markings on the floor in many areas and a one way system in place to make this easier.
Please shop alone if possible
Due to our number restrictions it’s extremely helpful if you shop alone, although we know it is not always possible. If you need to bring children with you, please keep them close by you and help them observe the 2m social distancing rule.
Guide Dogs Only
We are big animal lovers here at Smith’s but unfortunately we cannot accommodate dogs in the the garden centre at the moment. You are very welcome to bring an assistance dog if you need to.
Our cafe and toilets are closed
Sadly we cannot currently open the cafe or toilets. We also have restricted areas within the site. Our furniture and clothing sale areas have restricted access. If you would like to look at furniture or barbecues please ask a member of staff for help.
